Out of desperation,
Noli tried acupuncture and finally discovered a therapy that had a direct
effect on his condition. He was so impressed by the results he had
experienced that he decided he had to find out how and why it worked so well.
This prompted him to study Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). He completed
an extensive 5 year Doctor of Traditional Medicine (DTCM) program and is now a
Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac.) in BC.
In addition to the standard 5 year program, Noli
also completed a 2 month practicum at the Second Affiliated Hospital of An Hui
University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in He Fei city, An Hui province,
China. The bulk of his rotation at this hospital was spent in the
Orthopaedics Ward. It was here that Noli honed his pain management skills.
Noli has completed additional training for
detoxification methods: North American Detox Association (NADA) protocol and
Dr. Peter Holmes’ Detoxification as a Treatment Strategy course. He found
these skills to be invaluable during his employment with Princess Cruises while
he worked as an on-board acupuncturist in their beautiful, 5-star rated, Lotus
Spa.
Currently, Noli can
be found working as an acupuncturist for the BC Compassion Club Society
Wellness Centre as well as at his private practice The Catapang Clinic.
